Is a voluntary, Non- government social service organization formed in 1985.It is a legally registered Society with a 15 member Governing Board. It has 50 full time and over part time staff, besides hundreds of volunteers, all committed to the cause of liberation and development of the most downtrodden and underprivileged Dalits and Tribals through direct, radical collective, educational, employment and human rights initiatives.

Our area of operation is Kanchipuram district , but our Publications and campaign activities reach beyond the state and the country.

OUR VISION

A Society free from the evil of caste an untouchability. A society Where Dalits and Tribals can hold their heads high, with self-respect, self-confidence and social dignity. A Society where rural landless ,unorganized and poverty –stricken masses are unionized, have ownership of land and other assets and are economically self-reliant. A Society in which the marginalized are leaders and decision-makers.

MISSION

Set free child labourers,educate and empower them.

Train rural uneducated youth and school drop-outs and facilitate their employment.

Set free Dalit and Tribal bonded labourers and rehabilitate them. Assist them to assert their identity, their traditional arts, culture and health Skills.

Organize unorganized Dalit and Tribal workers into Trade Unions and Self Help Groups.

Orgaize Community Banking for self-help and to avoid excessive indebtedness.

Establish Dr.Ambedkar Centre, a resource and research centre for Dalit concerns , to use media for public social awareness and for human rights campaign and lobbying.
